    This course is fully online and self-paced. Content is delivered through a variety of methods including recorded presentations, online activities & games, written assignments, self-reflection, and required readings.

  • Course Completion Requirements

    Learners will have up to 4 months to complete over 40 hours of SANE content. Upon successful completion, learners will be provided with a certificate of completion of 40 CEUs.

  • IAFN Approved

    This curriculum is approved by the International Association of Forensic Nursing.

  • Maryland Board of Nursing.

    The online training curriculum has been approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing as RN-FNE program.

DCFNE's IAFN-Approved SANE Training

DCFNE has facilitated dozens of IAFN-Approved SANE Trainings in-person and virtually. Now this high quality training is available in a fully online, self-paced learning format. This course is perfect for Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Nurses who want to practice as Forensic Nurse Examiners. Nurses and other health care workers may also consider taking this course to better understand trauma-informed post assault care, even if they don't practice directly as a Forensic Nurse Examiner. The course must be completed in entirety to receive a certificate of completion for 40 Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) hours. We cannot offer professional Continuing Education credit for professions outside of Nursing.
